Concrete Results Inc., Southlake, Texas, has acquired the assets of Portland, Ore.-based Castia Stone, whose wet cast stone veneer production technology includes a rain screen air space design eliminating moisture build-up between siding and wall. The company will support licensed producers with multiple finish and texture offerings, product development, assistance in specifications, and a marketing program. Concrete Results sister company, InnovaCast Inc., will supply stone veneer molds.
As a precast veneer, notes Concrete Results President Mark Muratore, Castia Stone is technologically superior and extremely cost effective to install. [Plants] will be able to produce this material on existing equipment and supplement current offerings to contractors and distributors, he says. From a design standpoint, Castia Stone provides the architect with a creative material that can be used in combination with traditional sidings and provide greatly enhanced building designs.
The stone veneer technology follows Concrete Results' recent acquisition of the Brescia paving surface treatment system. It combines application and removal processes using a proprietary chemical formula, yielding slabs and stones with speciality finishes or exposed aggregate.
