Besser equips Lowell Precast for monolithic Ts

The quality of T Pipes has risen to a new level and production has gotten a lot faster and easier at Lowell Precast in Lowell, Ind., when their 48- x 96-in. Besser Horizontal Pour T Form was put into service in this spring. Plant Owner and President Bill Austgen affirms the quality of the monolithically poured T forms as well as his customers’ positive reactions to them, along with the production time savings they represent.

Chemical grouts, waterstops

Grace Construction Products’ De Neef’s PURe line of polyurethane grouts provide a safe and environmentally friendly alternative for injectable grouting projects and are all ANSI/NSF 61 certified for use in potable water applications. The new catalyst formulations are insensitive to freezing, with crystallization temperatures as low as -40°C. Both grout and catalyst are all phthalate-free formulations allowing for non-hazmat shipping and storage.

The Fast Cast Wet Cast Production System has been designed as a completely automated package, with equipment for de-stacking of mold carriers, stations for de-molding, mold cleaning, form release & color application, mold filling, vibration, quality control, unit stacking and curing. With cycle times now under 30 seconds and 5-ft.-square production boards, wet cast can be competitive with dry cast systems, according to Fast Cast developer McCoy Equipment.
