Clark Pacific design-build project attains premier Resiliency Council rating

Architectural and structural precast producer Clark Pacific and the City of Roseville, Calif., have announced U.S. Resiliency Council (USRC) Platinum level accreditation for the Roseville City Hall Annex. The new 82,000-sq.-ft. structure incorporates the Precast Hybrid Moment Frame, engineered to be self-centering after seismic event exposure and limit design drift to under 1.25 percent, thereby reducing owner and occupant recovery time.

NPCA, FHWA set precast pavement workshop for San Diego

NPCA and Federal Highway Administration Precast Pavement Implementation Team representatives have scheduled a February 2 workshop, “Precast Concrete Pavements: Understanding the Potential of the Technology for the Precast Community,” at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown/Bayside, San Diego. The 8 a.m.–noon program will examine the latest best practices in precast pavement technology, and suit producers active in panel fabrication or interested in learning about the technology. Investor rolls Stetson into Brock White-anchored Construction Supply Holdings

Middle market private equity specialist Sterling Group has acquired Iowa-based Stetson Building Products, Inc., a management-owned construction supply distributor with nine branches and a distribution center in the Midwest. Stetson is the third business assimilated into concrete and masonry contractor-geared Construction Supply Holdings, formed in November 2016 after Sterling closed two charter acquisitions, Brock White Co. LLC, St. Paul, Minn., and Border Construction Specialties LLC, Phoenix.

Basalite raises Rocky Mountain market stake in General Shale asset deal

Basalite has acquired Colorado Springs, Colo., and Cheyenne, Wyo., concrete block production assets—plus a retail showroom adjacent to the latter site—from Tennessee-based General Shale, best known for leadership in clay masonry. The deal extends the Rocky Mountain market presence of Basalite, which has concrete masonry production in Boise, Idaho, and Denver.

Oldcastle Precast banks on tower foundations in Cell Blocks deal

Oldcastle Precast has extended its deep presence in specialty structures for telecommunications and utility customers by acquiring the assets of Cell Blocks Inc., whose proprietary, post-tensioned foundation systems support tower installations of key U.S. wireless carriers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon.
