FHWA, MIT, Webcor officials lead International Concrete Sustainability Conference program

Toward the 9th annual International Concrete Sustainability Conference, May 12-14, in Cambridge, Mass., NRMCA has secured 60-plus experts to cover the latest developments in design, specification, production, testing, construction, maintenance and research of concrete as they relate to sustainability.
This year’s conference is being held in cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Concrete Sustainability Hub (CSHub) Showcase, May 15 on the Cambridge campus. Leading speakers include Federal Highway Administration’s Michael Culp, team leader–Sustainable Transport and Climate Change; CSHub Executive Director Dr. Jeremy Gregory, Ph.D.; Webcor Builders’ Phillip Williams, P.E., LEED AP, vice president of Sustainability and Technical Systems; and, Health Product Declaration Collaborative Executive Director John L. Knott, Jr.
Joining them with themed presentations will be MIT’s Mehdi Akbarian, “The Impact of Pavement Properties on Vehicle Fuel Consumption within the Pavement Infrastructure;” Florida International University’s Michael Bienvenu, “Comparison of Fuel Consumption on Rigid Versus Flexible Pavements;” AECOM’s Lisa Bradley, “Hazard, Exposure, and Risk—Why All Three Are Important for Material Ingredients Decisions;” Delft University of Technology’s Francesco Di Maio, “Recycling End-of-life Concrete: The C2CA Project;” and, PE International’s Nicholas Santero, “Understanding Health Product Declarations and LEED.”
