Thomas Holmes has been named Mid-Atlantic Precast Association (MAPA) executive director, bringing more than 30 years in precast/prestressed concrete industry experience, primarily in vice president of marketing and general manager capacities. He will represent the precast/prestressed concrete industry in the Mid-Atlantic states liaising with construction managers, architects, transportation department officials, engineers, general contractors and academia.
Maryland-based Chaney Enterprises has promoted Francis H. (Hall) Chaney, III from executive vice president to president, where he assumes responsibility for all ready mixed concrete, aggregate, construction material and supply operations.
Buffalo Grove, Ill.-based steel fiber manufacturer Concrete Fiber Solutions has appointed Matthew Norman as Midwest sales manager, citing industry experience that includes nearly a decade in designing, specifying and overseeing the use of steel fiber-reinforced concrete. He joins CFS at a point of rapid growth, management notes, with the company’s steel fiber-reinforced floor slab installations exceeding 3 million square feet through Q3 2016. Norman graduated from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in civil engineering. His major field of study was reinforced concrete design with a double minor in geotechnical engineering and economics.
Terex Corp. has shifted its Fort Wayne, Ind.-based front discharge mixer truck business from the Construction Americas specialty products portfolio to the Materials Processing segment. Terex Mixer Trucks joins Fuchs material handlers, Bid-Well automatic roller pavers, plus Powerscreen, Finlay and other minerals processing and washing equipment.
The National Precast Concrete Association elected Greg Stratis, president of Wilmington, Mass.-based Shea Concrete Products, to a one-year term as chairman during its 51st annual convention in Austin, Texas. Joining him as 2016-17 officers are Chairman-Elect Ashley Smith of Smith-Midland Corp. in Midland, Va., and Secretary/Treasurer Michael Hoffman of Lindsay Precast in Canal Fulton, Ohio.
