Hamilton Chief Named PCI Titan

BR-Bill-150Hamilton Form Co. President William Daily was named a “Titan of the Industry” at the 2014 Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute Convention in Washington, D.C. He joins an elite group of leaders who PCI credits with having a profound effect on industry advancement. The Institute named 50 charter Titans as part of its 50th anniversary observance in 2004.

Kentucky RMCA shares solid message

BR-Logo-150A new Kentucky Ready Mixed Concrete Association tagline, used thus far on more than 5,000 bumper stickers and tee shirts, focuses on longevity. “CONCRETE LASTS A LIFETIME” anchors a promotional/educational effort for branding concrete as a resilient and durable product. The association and producer members have distributed shirts among University of Kentucky, University of Louisville and Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, students, while securing sticker spots on cars and trucks, and in offices and bars.

Over 16-plus years, he has served as sales manager, account manager, director of Strategic Marketing, and currently leads the MOBILEconnect division, with additional responsibility for Command Alkon’s Brazilian operations. Vargas holds a master’s degree in Business Administration and a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.

Reports Detail Pavement Subbase Optimization, Erosion Potential

Developed at the Texas Transportation Institute, “Design Methodology for Subgrades and Bases Under Concrete Roads” and “Parking Lots and Test Methods & Results of Erosion Potential of Commonly Used Subgrade and Base Materials” are the culmination of research on best practices for identifying potential erosion problems before pavement is placed, and avoiding costs in overdesigned subbases. The publications are the latest additions to the Ready Mixed Concrete Research & Education Foundation library.
