Caterpillar set-forward axle truck enters production

Caterpillar has made initial deliveries of the CT681, first shown at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2014 earlier this year, with late-third quarter scheduled production on track. The set-forward axle model is a companion to the CT660, a set-back axle workhorse whose ConExpo-Con/Agg 2011 debut served as the company’s Class 8 on/off-highway truck series gateway.

Energy Department extends CO2-cured concrete research commitment

The next phase of “Utilization of CO2 in High Performance Building and Infrastructure Products,” a four-year research and development project supporting commercialization of carbon dioxide-reducing cement and concrete processes, will commence with an additional $752,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL).

Bartow Precast’s Tidwell appointed NPCA chairman

Michael Tidwell, president of Cartersville, Ga.-based Bartow Precast, was elected to a one-year term as NPCA chairman during the group’s 2014 convention in Montreal, succeeding Brent Dezember of StructureCast, Bakersfield, Calif.
