Spancrete Industries will begin shifting a transportation production line in early 2012 from a Green Bay, Wis., satellite plant to its main precast/prestressed operation.

The producer cites substantial investments in its 100-acre Valders, Wis., property, enabling transportation structure fabrication with the latest advances in precast. Green Bay production employees will be transferred to Valders, maintaining a skilled employee base for Wisconsin Department of Transportation-centered work. Although ceasing production at the Green Bay plant, Spancrete will maintain a sales office in the city.

“Moving our WI-DOT bridge line to Valders gives us the opportunity to take advantage of key investments, upgrades and efficiencies,” says Spancrete Chief Operating Officer Alan Antoniewicz. “This move reinforces our pursuit of building innovation and keeps us at the forefront of efficiency, technology and production processes.” Spancrete structures and engineering solutions have been used extensively in Wisconsin road construction projects over the past 50 years, he adds.
