American Concrete Institute Technical Committee 329ÒPerformance Criteria for Ready Mixed Concrete will propose alternatives to prescriptive concrete mix requirements in institute benchmarks such as ACI 318ÒBuilding Code Requirements for Structural Concrete and ACI 301ÒSpecifications for Structural Concrete for Buildings.
Committee 329 will hold its charter meeting during the ACI Spring Convention, March 21Ò25, at Chicago's Sheraton Hotel. Chaired by Mark Chrzanowski, principal structural technologist with engineering giant CH2MHill, the committee initially starts its work with Performance-based Requirements for Concrete, a document being finalized by ACI Innovative Task Group 8. The NRMCA (Prescriptive-to-Performance) P2P Initiative pegged the document preparation and committee launch as the next step toward industry standards on performance-based requirements for concrete. NRMCA Senior Vice President Colin Lobo, firstname.lastname@example.org, is representing the association on ACI Committee 329.
