HawkeyePedershaab Concrete Technologies Inc. has acquired Ludington, Mich.-based CAM Sales Inc., which manufactures reinforcement accessories plus shear steel stirrup assemblies for concrete pipe, box culverts and other utility structures, and is the North American representative for the Brecon/Bosch, Eurobend and Habermann brands of precast production components.

“We are pleased to partner with HawkeyePedershaab, which is committed to providing continued support to our customers and enhancing all aspects of our business,” says CAM Sales President James Wright, who will continue with the business. “We are confident that our strong brand and reputation, combined with the scale of the HawkeyePedershaab platform, will allow us to further establish CAM Sales as the premier manufacturer of reinforcement accessories for the concrete industry.”

Trimble recently announced a definitive agreement to acquire construction management software specialist Viewpoint for $1.2 billion in cash. Complementary to the e-Builder business, another recent acquisition, Viewpoint will extend Trimble’s ability to support more complete and integrated project, jobsite and business workflows across the construction lifecycle.

Viewpoint software integrates a user’s financial and resource management to project operations and to jobsite and field. Integration across office, team and field enables contractors to employ Viewpoint to effectively manage and have visibility to data and workflows from pre-production planning; to product operations and supply chain management; then to project hand over and asset operation. By blending office and field data workflows across a project, Trimble notes, customers are able to achieve significantly improved collaboration, efficiency and decision making, while lowering costs.

“Viewpoint, in combination with the recent e-Builder acquisition, confirms [our] leadership in the accelerating digital transformation of the construction industry,” says Trimble CEO Steven Berglund. “The acquisitions are strategically significant and position us to play a central role in providing comprehensive enterprise and project solutions.”

“The construction industry is embarking on a major digital transformation, and together with Trimble we will further accelerate technology innovation and adoption to deliver even more value to our customers,” adds Viewpoint CEO Manolis Kotzabasakis. “This partnership is a perfect fit, as Trimble and Viewpoint share a common vision helping construction companies integrate operations across the office, team and field, improving project profitability, enhancing productivity, and effectively collaborating across the construction ecosystem.”

“Software demand continues to surge across all industry verticals, and Viewpoint has accelerated technology adoption in construction through the development and launch of a suite of new cloud and mobile applications,” affirms Darren Abrahamson, a managing director at Bain Capital Private Equity, from whom Trimble is acquiring Viewpoint.
