Besser Co. has appointed Jeff Lindberg as sales and service representative for the Northeast United States. He is promoting machine and mold parts, capital equipment, service, and training across the entire Besser product line, and joins Terry McNamee and Randy VanSickle in supporting concrete plants throughout the region.

Prior to that, he was plant manager of Concrete Stone & Tile in Branchville, N.J., responsible for overseeing all aspects of personnel, production, purchasing, quality control, and safety. He has experience operating block machines, troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment and controls and maintenance. Separately, Chandramouli (Chandra) Nagarajan has joined Besser as sales application engineer, responsible for coordinating the planning, design, and installation BRF-MANU-CHANDRA-200of masonry, hardscape, pipe and precast equipment, curing systems and complete production facilities. He arrived in the U.S. from Ghana to study mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan, and took a summer 2013 Besser engineering department internship—mindful of the brand owing to machinery in the concrete masonry plant where his father works. Since joining Besser he has attended the Executive Session of the Blockmakers Workshops, participated in sales meetings and visited customer facilities. L.M. Scofield Co., Los Angeles, reports record response in its Annual Decorative Concrete Awards contest. “We received 100 entries in 2014, which is almost double the record we have ever received in one year previously. The number of entries seems fitting since we will be celebrating our company’s Centennial year in 2015,” says Director of Integrated Marketing Cam Villar. “ We will be announcing the winners at an awards ceremony during our Centennial Celebration during the 2015 World of Concrete in Las Vegas.

”The contest is divided into Integral Concrete Color, Stained Concrete, Stamped Concrete, Polished Concrete, Heavy/Highway Concrete and Artistic Concrete categories, with a Second Runner-Up, First Runner-Up and a Grand Prize Winner named in each. The contest is free to enter and open to any contractor or company that utilized Scofield Systems in the submitted project.


Pittsburgh-based SRI Quality System Registrar recently issued an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certificate to Link Manufacturing Ltd., Sioux Center, Iowa, for an EMS related to the design and manufacture of cab suspensions, auxiliary suspensions, chassis suspensions, and accessories. An EMS can stand alone or be integrated with other management systems under the International Organization for Standardization, Geneva. An effective EMS shows a commitment to environmental practices, conservation of input materials and energy, attainment of necessary permits and authorizations, Link officials note, as well as the intent to maintain good public/community relations.

“ISO 14001 certification provides evidence to customers, suppliers, employees and to nearby communities of the commitment that Link Manufacturing has to meeting its environmental responsibilities,” notes SRI Director of Certification Edward Maschmeier.

ISO 14001 was established as an internationally recognized standard to which organizations could obtain certification, and demonstrate an effective EMS, he adds. SRI is an internationally accredited registrar for management systems standards, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO/TS 16949, OHSAS 18001, ISO 13485, ISO 20000-1, ISO 27001, ISO 22000 and environmental management systems standards such as ISO 14001, RC14001, and RCMS.

With 30-plus years in ready mixed and precast concrete production, he has specialized in on-site technical support, quality control and troubleshooting for many major jobs in the U.S. “It’s a privilege to work in this industry and to be able to use my experiences to help others achieve their goals,” notes Jordan, who is based in Bethlehem Township, Pa.

 

Fontana, Calif., compressed natural gas fueling infrastructure specialist TruStar Energy has named Doug Howell vice president of Service and Maintenance. He joins the company with a deep tenure in heavy-duty trucking: 16-plus years at McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing and 20 years at Waste Management Inc. His first order of Tru Star business is development of a robust national call center and next-generation training tools for service technicians.


Superior Industries, Inc. has named John Garrison new business development manager. His experience in bulk processing will be used to develop new opportunities for Superior’s portable plants product line, design-build division and the new wet processing division. He joins the Minnesota conveyor specialist after a decade as market area director for the Terex Mineral Processing Systems Division, where he was responsible for directing sales, marketing, distribution and aftermarket service teams for the Cedarapids, Simplicity and Canica product lines. Before joining Terex in 2005, Garrison spent fives years as a territory manager at Motion Industries.


Separately, Superior has tapped 20-year industry veteran Jason Adams as general manager of the company’s Construction Management Division. He joins Superior on the heels of serving as operations manager and vice president of Operation at Continental Equipment Co., a construction aggregate equipment distributor in Fenton, Mo. He entered the industry in 1994, serving as a welder at the Terex plant in Duran, Mich.


Greenville, N.C.-based NACCO Materials Handling Group has promoted Chuck Pascarelli to president, Americas, from the same position in Sales and Marketing.

He will oversee all sales, marketing, manufacturing, finance and pricing functions for the Hyster and Yale product lines, as well as their extensive distribution networks across the Americas. In addition, his responsibilities will encompass all NMHG products and lift truck services, financial services, fleet management, national accounts and dealer relations for the Americas.

Pascarelli joined NMHG in 2013, and has rapidly built a strong sales and marketing management team. In his expanded role, he will be charged with growing the Hyster and Yale customer base, while further improving the operational and financial performance of the Americas division.


Separately, NMHG has promoted Pat DeSutter from director of Fleet Management to vice president of Fleet, Service and Aftermarket, overseeing all sales, operations and management for the fleet, service and aftermarket divisions of Hyster Co. and Yale Materials Handling Corp. DeSutter joined the manufacturer in 1992 as a parts pricing manager, working his way up to director of Parts Distribution Operations. In his most recent Fleet Management role, he and his team implemented programs for materials handling customers, working to meet the needs of their fleets and operational goals.


Linde Material Handling North America Corp. in Summerville, S.C., is changing its corporate name to KION North America Corp. effective this month. The change will allow the company to better align itself with its European parent, The KION Group, and serve as a platform for the KION 2020 North American growth strategy. The KION Group has a global presence with material handling products and solutions across six brand companies. They are the European market leader and the world’s second largest manufacturer of forklifts and warehouse technology.


Ryder System, Inc., a key player in commercial fleet management and supply chain solutions, has announced its support of Trucking Efficiency. The joint initiative between the North American Council for Freight Efficiency and the Carbon War Room provides unbiased data on available vehicle technologies and engages with truck and trailer builders, component manufacturers, and others who want to improve the performance of their heavy-duty vehicles. Ryder’s involvement includes a leadership position on the board and active participation in NACFE, as well as a financial sponsorship of the organization’s new resource, TruckingEfficiency.org—a free, independent, online guide to help fleet owners learn about new vehicle technologies.

The TruckingEfficiency.org tech guide provides access to unbiased, third-party information on over 70 technologies, so that fleet owners and operators can identify which ones might be appropriate for their rolling stock. It centralizes existing data on available technologies and opportunities for the North American tractor-trailer sector, as well as the wealth of data collected in a series of Confidence Reports.


Eaton Vehicle Group has named Pavan Pattada president, North American Truck, effective this month. He most recently served as senior vice president, Corporate Supply Chain Management. Pattada joined Eaton in 2002 as director of global sourcing for the unit; was named general manager of Eaton’s Truck business in India in 2005; and, in 2009 became director of Operations for North American Truck. Prior to his most recent position with Eaton, Pattada was the vice president of business development for Eaton’s Industrial Sector.
