The Precast Show 2020, staged last month in Fort Worth, Texas, saw more than 4,000 attendees, 350 exhibitors, 100-plus hours of live education and various special events. The National Precast Concrete Association and Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute jointly hosted the event.

Advanced Concrete Technologies marks milestone anniversary with Texas verve

New Hamshire-based Advanced Concrete Technologies celebrated 30 years of North American partnerships last month during The Precast Show in Fort Worth, with a traditional Lonestar State night out for customers and associates—a barbeque dinner followed by a rodeo. Before the ridin’ and ropin’ started at the historic Cowtown Coliseum at the Fort Worth Stockyards, the hosts shared thoughts on the company’s three decades of success.

Safety survey: Worker involvement, supervisor leadership drive metrics

The latest Safety Management in the Construction Industry SmartMarket Report reinforces prior series findings on the high priority of accident prevention while placing new emphasis on supervisors’ onsite actions and leadership in promoting safety. Prepared with participation from CPWR – Center for Construction Research and Training plus San Francisco information technology developer Procore, the report reflects findings from biennial Dodge Data & Analytics contractor surveys.

ConExpo-Con/Agg attendees and exhibitors stand firm

Ready Mix USA brings the cool factor to Atlanta project

Ready Mix USA is expected to provide approximately 80,000 cubic yards of ready-mix concrete for the construction of 1105 West Peachtree—a 3.5-acre, multi-use development in midtown Atlanta. The $530 million project got off to a necessarily cool start in mid-2019 when the Cemex USA subsidiary used liquid nitrogen to meet temperature-controlled mix specifications for the foundation.
