Laser scan data crunching speeds slab flatness/levelness measurements

Updated software generates floor flatness and levelness figures from laser scan data, and visualizes wet or hardening concrete slabs’ high or low areas with elevation or deviation heatmaps, contours and grids. The new Rithm for Autodesk Navisworks version promptly delivers analysis reports compliant with ASTM E1155, Standard Test Method for Determining FF Floor Flatness and FL Floor Levelness Numbers. In contrast to the multiple-day process typical of current FF/FL measurement practice, developers cite the program’s capacity to reveal E1155 numbers in under 15 minutes.

Moreau takes over for Edwards at LafargeHolcim U.S. ACM

Jay Moreau has transitioned from Martin Marietta senior vice president of Operations Services to LafargeHolcim U.S. Aggregates and Construction Materials chief executive officer. He will oversee one of the top producers in ready mixed concrete, sand & gravel, crushed stone and asphalt—encompassing Aggregate Industries Management and sister operations brought under one umbrella following Lafarge North America and Holcim (US) Inc. parent companies’ 2015 merger.

Ward to succeed Europe-bound Lehigh Hanson CEO Morrish

A HeidelbergCement AG Managing Board succession plan will see an early-2020 C suite shift for the North American and European businesses: Jon Morrish, chief executive officer of Texas-based Lehigh Hanson Inc., will head Western and Southern Europe cement, aggregate and concrete operations; successor Chris Ward will transition from his post as Canada Region president. A U.K. native who joined Hanson Plc in 1999, Morrish led the Lehigh Hanson South Region ahead of taking the helm in 2015. Ward has progressed in various management roles since joining Hanson Building Materials America in 1996.
