LafargeHolcim targets insulation market with mineral foam product

Airium is scheduled for a North American market arrival in the near-term following a late-2016 rollout in France and Austria, where the product has launched in concrete masonry unit production—injected in block cavities. It aligns with the 2030 Plan through which LafargeHolcim commits to generating one-third of its revenue from products and services with enhanced sustainability performance. A thermal insulation solution like Airium, the producer notes, advances sustainable construction by lowering heating and cooling requirements in commercial and residential buildings, which account for an estimated 30 to 40 percent of global energy consumption.

“With the launch of Airium, LafargeHolcim demonstrates once again its ability to rethink construction practices in order to continue delivering innovation,” says Head of Growth & Innovation Gérard Kuperfarb. “This product truly represents a new concept for insulation. Healthier, safer and simpler to work with, Airium is an energy-efficient insulation for buildings, in keeping with [our] commitment to offering sustainable, high-performance construction solutions.”www.airium.com
