Wieser Concrete adds half-acre under roof, gearing for large products

Wieser Concrete Products, Inc. is anticipating early Spring completion of a 20,000-sq.-ft. Maiden Rock, Wis., headquarters plant expansion, fittingly timed with the producer observing its 50th anniversary in 2015.40-NS-WeiserI-400

“The addition, along with the purchase of three new bridge cranes, will allow us to produce larger products that we currently build at other locations,” says President Andy Wieser. “The expansion will enable us to increase production efficiencies by allowing the incorporation of existing processes, such as rebar fabrication, utilization of concrete pumping systems and the extension of overhead cranes.”

This includes being able to transfer steel reinforcement into the production bays with ease. The cranes will allow for handling of larger precast products like bridges, septic tanks, box culverts, and custom boxes for which the existing space did not allow.

Following completion of the new enclosure, Wieser Concrete will add about 15 to the Maiden Rock payroll and turn its attention to a batch plant upgrade.
